Outsmart yourself- Blend these resolutions to 2019 goals….

Deep down all of us want to change with a new year with new professional goals, change jobs, upgrade the house interiors, financial goals and much more… I heard myself, my friends, my husband design thinking around many of the goals listed above but what I didn’t hear was- self-healing goals, self-identifying yourself goals, develop deep connections with your own self. In mid-2017, I came much closer to practice deep spirituality and mediation, I am surely late on the train but I am glad I made it to this journey. Finding deeper connections with myself have not only helped to control my anxiety but also understand people around me.

A daily cup of Mediation: We all have an in-built highly voluble syndrome- constant judgment, giving constant unwanted feedback, gossips have made our mind not only corrupted but our inner thoughts are filled with negativity. I have been a victim as well as the bully of all the negative behaviors. In 2017, I had come to self-realization how my thoughts were controlling my entire day- the events, opinions, judgment or bullying behavior forced me to stand at the edge of my life, where I felt there was no going back. That’s when I came in contact with practice of Mediation- I have always believed that mediation cannot help to clear your mind- there is no way one can clear their mind until their dead or they met the most eternal power. But once I started investing time in the evening to practice mediation, I have experience my mind to be more calm, felt I could deal with the stress without fear or anxiety and overall my body responds well to my issues. In addition, I have been personally listening to meditation music at work or at home to calm of my mind and heart. According to a study, 80% of leaders, entrepreneurs, CEOs practice meditation to achieve inner strength before starting their day. You can also marry your mediation with Yoga eventually to attain more inner success.

Ditch the label: Another habit to add in 2018 is “Reading” which is very crucial to develop a sense of understanding, intelligence, and awareness to many critical issues faced by the world. I highly encourage to read books on different cultures, countries, and lifestyles along with many non-fiction professional development books. The world is a melting pot, but still many of us have a habit of tagging labels to people who might be practicing a different religion or immigrants or people who overall don’t fit into your preassigned box. Reading will give you a new set of glasses to rethink a situation, assist you to find a purpose or a way to simply understand your mind. Reading should a be a mandatory habit in your everyday life.

Learn a new skill: From past year, I have been on a journey to expand my knowledge, improvise memory, read about things I have always been inquisitive about. Professionally, I have also taken a step to learn a new skill. Learning a new skill will require time and practice, you may not instantly feel like a Rockstar but practice will make your new adventure easeful. I highly recommend Khanacademy if you want to expand knowledge of Math, US history, coding and much more. YouTube is another pool of information- you may opt to learn a new language, try a new diverse dish or just simply learn about a new culture.

There is this mythology that says that when people are born, their brains are essentially fixed very early on and they’re not able to change their connections. I was aware that was a myth and that people could learn new skills.

Forget the store bought overly-expensive energy bars- Try this (Just under your budget)

After several trials and errors, I was finally able to find the energy bites, which suits my taste. I am very excited to share recipes with you. Give it a try and I am sure you wont even cross the isle for energy bars anymore. Even the laziest person can accomplish this recipe under 20 minutes. 


2 Ripe Bananas (good for eyes, bowels regularity and weight loss)

1 cup of rolled oats (Fiber)

¼ shredded coconut(contain protein, zinc and iron)

½ organic honey (Energy source)

¼ cup almond butter (good to reduce bad cholesterol)

½ cranberries (Vitamin C, fiber, manganese, Vitamin K, E and Cooper)

½ cup walnut(Decrease LDL, Omega 3)

You can also replace- walnuts with salted almonds or pistachios (I love texture of Walnuts)

You can also replace almond butter for peanut butter ( But, I love Almond butter and I am allergic to Peanut Butter)

Process: Take a big bowl so you can easily mix all the ingredients 1) Use fork to smash both the ripe bananas 2) add rolled oats, coconut, honey, almond butter, cranberries and powdered walnut ( give few spins in food processor) into the mixture 3) I would recommend using hand to mix the ingredients 4) Our goal should be make sure all the ingredients binds well together (Almond butter, honey and cranberries- can help to bind all the ingredients together) 5) Turn on the oven at 325 degree, make balls out of the mixture and place them on the cookie sheets 6) leave them in the oven for exactly 10 mins 7) Your energy bites are ready to eat


This recipe with two bananas and 1 cup of rolled oats made 18 balls of energy bites.

Tip: You can also added Chocó chips for your sweet tooth but honey and almond butter does the trick.

I usually carry these bad boys in a jar at work, so in this way I can snack on them between those meals. There are absolutely guilty free, vegan energy bites.

From last two years, I was tired of using synthetic, chemical induced and fake-marketed beauty products. I completely wanted to get rid of applying make up to hide my black spots on chin and cheeks. World's favorite berry with a single seed: Avocado

This recipe is my favorite and it’s just cost you under $6 to prepare it. I prepare this recipe for lunch or an evening snack.

Avocado Toast


Avocado belongs to the species group called as “Persea Americana”.

Three varieties: "Mexican avocados" or "Guatemalan avocados" or "West Indian avocado".

Mexico is a largest exporter of avocado into the U.S., with about 500,000 metric tons of avocado being sent from Mexico to the U.S. each year.

About 200,000 tons of avocado are produced in the state of California each year, and another 35,000 tons in the state of Florida.



4 slices of bread ( I have used sprouted bread from Whole Foods)

2 Ripe Avocados

¼ Chop onions

¼ cup of chopped cilantro


Heat the oven at 350 degree

Mash avocado into a bowl, add onions, cilantro, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper for heat

Mix it well and spread the mixture on the bread (you can spread butter it you like)

Leave it in the oven for 11-12 mins (double check the crust of the bread, you don’t want it to burn)

Shred some cheese on the top and leave in the oven again for 1-2 min until the cheese melts

According to visa survey 2015, an American spends $53 a week and a total of $2746 a year on meals bought from cafeteria or fast food joints. We all have started relying on pre-made meals, pre cut vegetables and restaurant take outs rather than following old school habit of brown bags,carrying lunch from home or buying whole vegetables. Mostly a good percentage of population spends close to 3k each year to get closer to the goal of getting sick and becoming a brand ambassador for a newly break out diseases in our country .
